15% effectivenes increase & tremendous commitment of the crew
PROJECT IN AN INTERNATIONAL FASHION COMPANY
Challenge
Unsatisfactory results of quantity and cost of production.
Based on opinions, not facts. Often implementing solutions in the dark.
Few people thinking about the implementation of the plan, objectives and development of the company.
Extended decision-making processes on what to improve and in what order.
Solution
We defined and visualised simple KPI measures.
We taught foremen and masters to lead VPM meetings: to listen, question, and support.
We involved maintenance, logistics and production planning in finding solutions and helping production on a regular basis.
We were very quick to test the effectiveness of various solutions.
We consistently conducted VPM meetings, even after the first wave of euphoria.
Results
15% EFFECTIVENESS INCREASE (MULTIPLE IDEAS IMPLEMENTED ON THE SAME OR CONSECUTIVE DAYS)
TREMENDOUS INCREASE OF THE CREW COMMITMENT IN FINDING AND IMPLEMENTING IMPROVEMENTS
CLIENT REVIEWS
It has to be experienced. At first, we couldn’t understand what VPM was all about and that it was so easy to achieve so much.
It was very frustrating how we couldn’t ask for the simplest things like a closer for boxes or a battery for the cart and the work was constant.
The difference is like between hell and heaven – now it makes you want to work as you can see that the work is going and you have an impact on so many things.
Finally, I don’t have to keep explaining that the plan is not being executed
